VANADZOR, MARCH 2, ARMENPRESS: The bordering communities of Shirak,
Lori and Tavush provinces will cooperate with the bordering communities
of neighboring Georgia. With this aim a joint institution will be
established on the example of similar "Euroregio" functioning in
Europe, which will contribute to the regulation of the issues in
these communities, mutual recognition of the two peoples and the
development of the region as a result of multilateral cooperation.

The fourth meeting took place in Vanadzor between the associations of
Georgian and Armenian communities as well as the heads of bordering
town communities with the participation of the head of "Ost Euro"
consulting company Hayner Berry. Within the frameworks of the program
which is financed by the German government a union of legal persons
will be established.

Executive director of Armenian republican association of communities
Natalia Lapauri told Armenpress that after it a cooperation agreement
will be signed within the frameworks of Europe.

The program yet intends cooperation between Armenian and Georgian
bordering communities, but the mayor of Vanadzor Samvel Darbinian
expressed wish and hope later to establish such relations with
Azerbaijani bordering communities after regulation of the existing
conflicts.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
