Our commitment is to make the signing and ratification of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan possible in minutes. Until then, of course, we will continue to take a number of steps to further strengthen peace and expand cooperation, such as bilateral trade. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan at the joint session of the standing committees of the National Assembly.
According to him, in 2027, Armenia will continue the processes of regulating and developing relations with neighboring countries. In particular, regarding Turkey, Mirzoyan said that the dialogue is quite active and effective, there have been and will continue to be individual manifestations of cooperation.
“Technically, before, Armenia-Turkey trade was carried out through a third country, that obstacle was removed, now it is direct in terms of customs, geographically, still through the territory of Georgia. Yes, despite all the progress, the Armenia-Turkey border remains closed at the moment, but this process has matured so much that we can open the Armenia-Turkey border and establish diplomatic relations at any time,” assured the minister.
