Armenian women’s weightlifting team member, European champion and World Championships bronze medallist Aleksandra Grigoryan has reflected on her performance at the World Championships in China.

“I am not particularly satisfied with my results. I could have done more. I completed only one successful attempt in the snatch. I could not lift 90kg. In the clean and jerk, I lifted 120kg, which earned me the bronze medal in that discipline.

“I did not know that 120kg was a European Championships record. I am happy, but I did not come here for that record; I came for an overall medal. I have big ambitions for the future. I will not make any promises, but I will do everything I can to perform brilliantly at the 2027 World Championships in Yerevan,” Grigoryan said, according to the Armenian Weightlifting Federation’s press service.

Competing in the women’s 57kg category, Grigoryan completed only one successful snatch attempt, lifting 85kg. She failed to lift 90kg in her two subsequent attempts.

In the clean and jerk, she successfully lifted 114kg and 120kg, winning bronze in the discipline.

With a combined total of 205kg, Grigoryan finished fourth at the World Championships.
