There will be no economic apocalypse in Armenia, and those who speak of one do not understand the economy, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said while discussing a possible increase in gas prices and its consequences.
“They were predicting an apocalypse in 2018, as well as in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. What has happened to Armenia’s economy during this time? It has grown, and it will continue to grow. On the contrary, we should ask ourselves: how is it that in neighboring Turkey, gas is three to four times more expensive, yet tomatoes grown there are cheaper than those grown in Armenia?” Pashinyan said.
He noted that Armenia’s economy must develop and become competitive.
