Hasmik Yengoyan, deputy of the National Assembly “Strong Armenia” faction, referred to the unjustified costs of organizing the COP17.
According to him, about 10 billion 890 million drams were given to “Meridian Holding” CJSC.
“It was decided by one person that “Meridian” should organize and hold this event in its territory,” he emphasized.
Moreover, the government granted two loans to the said company.
“They give one loan of about 1 billion 839 million drams with an interest rate of 1 percent, then they provide an additional loan of 1 billion 128 million 380 thousand drams to the same “Meridian” at 0.3 percent. As a result, we have almost 10 billion 900 million in financing given to “Meridian” alone,” explained the deputy.
