Armenia national football team head coach Yeghishe Melikyan said he was proud of his players following their 0-0 draw with Montenegro.

“I am very proud of my guys. Only I know how much the team struggled with injuries in the buildup to this fourth match. We proved a lot. There are players on the national team who came to me before the game with existing injuries and pain and told me they were ready. There was discipline, dedication, and character in this game — everything I initially wanted to see in the national team,” Melikyan said during the post-match press conference.

Armenia played Montenegro to a 0-0 draw in Podgorica in the fourth round of League C, Group 2 of the UEFA Nations League.

Armenia will host Cyprus in Yerevan in the fifth round on November 12. In the final round on November 15, Armenia will face Latvia.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
