Yesterday, the leader of the barbaric administration of Baku made another dirty and insulting speech in occupied Nakhichevan.
Parallel to this, however, the dictator of Baku also referred to Ajami ibn Abubakr Nakhchivani, an “Azerbaijani” architect who worked in Nakhichevan during the period of Atabek rule, which was completely Iranianized in Atrapatakan’s Seljuk origin and cultural sense, in the 12th-13th centuries.
The point is that there could not have been an “Azerbaijani” architect during the mentioned period, because neither Azerbaijan nor the Azerbaijani ethnic and cultural identity existed, but it is even more impudent to declare “Azerbaijani” an architect whose name “Ajami” component from the literary Arabic and Persian of the given time simply means “non-Arab, Iranian” as opposed to “Arab”.
The so-called state entity led by the dictator of Baku is artificial in everything, including its claim to the medieval culture of the area, which is appropriated either from us or from the Iranians.
And why did the dictator of Baku remember this medieval architect and his legacy?
The answer is very simple. he understands better than anyone that, both historically and culturally, Nakhichevan’s being a part of artificial Azerbaijan has an insurmountable barrier of legitimacy, so it is necessary to “build” that legitimacy by destroying Armenian culture and appropriating Iranian culture.
