168: Just as Nikol’s government cheats on “European integration”, so does “Euro

August 10, 2026

Former RA Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan writes: “2026 in the first half, until the June 7 parliamentary elections, the word “European integration” was an integral part of Nicol and his government’s texts. There was not a day that any deputy, minister, governor and village head did not talk about “European integration”.

I don’t think that anyone who knows Nikol will believe in another fairy tale of his “European integration”. He just needed to be re-elected with the support of the European political community at any cost and that’s it. The man solved the issue of reproduction of his power and now it’s time for “European integration”.

In Cholpan Ata, it turned out that there will be no “European integration” referendum in RA. Nicole is absolutely right, what referendum on something that doesn’t exist, nothing to vote on?

It is wonderful and brilliant.

For a long time, you have been pushing the country with deception and catastrophic sacrifices towards a door which, as it “suddenly turned out”, was not even open. And the culprit, of course, is not Pashinyan. It’s just that the wrong door of the EU decided not to open. That door “does not understand” the historical moment and the inestimable value of Armenia in the EU.

I must say that Nicole is right in some respects. Just as his government is deceiving “European integration”, so “European integration” is deceiving Armenia. If very recently the European Union was announced as the only possible future of Armenia, today it turns out that the issue “has not matured” to such an extent that even holding a referendum is pointless and pointless.

The answer, of course, lies in Nikol’s politics.

a) In the beginning, they tell the public loudly and with pathos about the inevitable European future.

b) Then it turns out that no one invited us there.

c) After that, they calmly explain that no one made any promises and there was no such desire at all (“…did we need Shushi?” style).

d) And the last chord: they will start justifying that, as usual, our people simply misunderstood everything.

It is genius. It seems that one can endlessly cheat and cheat…

However, it was found out from the EAEU signals that as a result of cheating, the houses of our citizens do not receive gas from Brussels. After another resolution of the European Parliament, electricity is not produced automatically. Armenian exported goods, just by pronouncing the word “European integration”, do not enter the market and do not turn into commodity circulation.

Nikol would very much like the economy to be subject to his fairy-tale propaganda, but it exists only in the real world, not in H1 reports and beautiful slides.

But the most surprising thing is not even this.

The most amazing thing is the ability with which the public is asked to pretend that nothing happened, every time yesterday’s announcements come into direct conflict with today’s announcements. They were saying something yesterday. Today, it is the opposite. Tomorrow they will explain that this is exactly what they meant from the beginning. And everyone should nod.

But the citizens have a serious “defect”. Many people’s memory and intelligence work well. And this is the biggest problem of Pashinyan’s policy.

The roaring government would dream if, by some miracle, all people would lose their memories, and every day they would forget what happened yesterday.”
