PanARMENIAN.Net – Arthur Nazaryan has been elected president of the Basketball Federation of Armenia. During the federation’s extraordinary assembly held in Yerevan on July 29, delegates unanimously approved his candidacy, the federation’s press service said.
It was announced earlier that Hrachya Rostomyan, who had led the organization for 20 years, was stepping down from the position.
Thirty-three of the federation’s 34 delegates attended the assembly. Delegates heard a presentation from presidential candidate Arthur Nazaryan, who outlined his vision for the development of basketball in Armenia, as well as his upcoming plans and priorities.
He then answered delegates’ questions before an open vote was held.
Nazaryan has worked within the Basketball Federation of Armenia for many years, serving as secretary general and overseeing the federation’s organizational activities, international relations, and development programs.
Since 2012, he has served as a FIBA International Commissioner. In 2025, he was selected to participate in the prestigious FIBA Academy educational program alongside leading professionals in sports management.
