Samvel Karapetyan, the chairman of the “Strong Armenia” party under house arrest, filed a lawsuit against the Corruption Prevention Commission (CPC) in the Administrative Court. The politician aims to cancel the administrative decision to fine him for not submitting a property and income declaration.
According to “Pastinfo” agency, the decision of July 13, 2026 of the structure became the reason for a court dispute. According to that document, the Commission fined Karapetyan 200,000 drams for the fact that, after receiving a written notification, he did not submit the declaration of assumption of office, which is a mandatory requirement for leaders of political forces, within the thirty days stipulated by law.
In this situation, the circumstances in which the head of the party was found are characteristic. In February of this year, when Karapetyan officially assumed the duties of the president of “Strong Armenia”, he was already under house arrest. During that period, according to the court’s decision, the scope of his contacts was strictly limited, which could be an objective obstacle for timely organization of administrative processes and communication with state bodies.
Currently Samvel Karapetyan the claim was addressed to Mher Petrosyan, judge of the Administrative Court. There is no official information about the case being taken into proceedings and the date of the first hearing being set.
