The US-Iran conflict is becoming a challenge for Armenia

According to The Economist, the war against Iran has become not only a foreign political impasse for Donald Trump, but also a heavy domestic political burden. Americans do not see a clear goal of the war, a measurable result, or a realistic way out of it.

It seems that ordinary Americans are no longer debating whether the war will end in victory or defeat. They are especially convinced that it will be long-lasting, and the government does not have a strategy to get out of it. This is a deeper form of public distrust than mere opposition to war.

This is a particularly worrying development for Armenia. A long-term American-Iranian war increases the risk of internal destabilization of Iran, disruption of southern communication, increase in the price of transportation and fuel, as well as a change in the balance of power in the entire South Caucasus.
