The Armenian Church of St. Karapet in Skyutar district of Istanbul has reopened after a long renovation. Scutar is a historical district in the Asian part of Istanbul, on the shore of the Bosphorus, where around 50 thousand Armenians lived at the beginning of the 20th century. During the liturgy, Mashalyan congratulated the priest of the church, Yeghishe Uchkunyan, and wished him success. After the liturgy, lunch was served in the church yard. After the consecration, the first liturgy to be served in the church is scheduled for July 12.
