From Tehran by FLYONE to Yekaterinburg

As you know, Nikol Pashinyan met Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin within the framework of the “Innoprom-2026” international industrial exhibition.

The Russian side emphasized that this is Pashinyan’s first visit after the parliamentary elections, and reminded that Russia continues (and probably will continue) to remain Armenia’s largest trade partner and investor.

At the same time, “rushing to Europe” Nikol stated that Armenia is ready to continue the development of relations with Russia, is interested in staying in the EAEU and is ready to solve “problematic” issues.

It’s no wonder that Armenian farmers were told that soon the ikebana of Armenian plants will win the hearts of European designers and lovers. And Armenian trout fish will become the main menu of the best restaurants in Paris and Brussels.

As for Armenian fruits and vegetables, according to the rosy dreams of the capitulators, long queues should have formed for them in the German Aldi, Lidl and Kaufland trade chains, the French Carrefour and the British Tesco.

After the Russian “quench” and the West “escalating” the situation, it turned out that Armenia itself could be “tars kaput” once again in this game. Therefore, without an invitation and reception worthy of the head of the country, Nikol rushed to the Urals.

Is it worth considering Pashinyan’s visit as a “breakthrough” or a return to the previous “normal state”, I am sure not. Rather, it is like a demonstration of a manageable dialogue after tensions, where the main message is that RA cannot sever economic ties with Russia and EAEU.

It is not a breakthrough or normalization, because in my opinion, Pashinyan’s visit did not eliminate the mistrust between Moscow and Yerevan. Russia does not want Armenia’s rapprochement with the EU, but that process is gathering momentum, entangling and opposing numerous regional interests.

EU, USA, Russia, Iran, Turkey, China, India, Georgia, Azerbaijan. Can you imagine how irreconcilable contradictions and enmity there are between the parties involved? It is Nikol and Ilham, under the skillful leadership of Erdogan, that their interests in the South Caucasus are opposed and are constantly entangled.

And what will be the result? Not stability and regional peace, but rapidly growing contradictions and “all against all” confrontation, especially in the territory of Armenia.

P.S.
However, in Yekaterinburg, both Armenia and Russia showed that they are not interested in a complete severance of relations. This is not bad for a start, but much more is needed to continue.

Both Moscow and Brussels will expect only actions from Nikol instead of empty words. The future of the KP government, which has lost its legitimacy and is in power with Western-Turkish support, will depend on it.
