Checks have started in “Gazprom Armenia” company

“Zhoghovurd” daily writes:

“Against the background of economic pressures and restrictions from the Russian side that have been ongoing for almost two months now, the issue of natural gas supplied to Armenia continues to be on the agenda. All the more so after warnings were sounded from the Russian side that in case of certain developments even the complete cessation of gas supply to Armenia is not ruled out.

Yesterday, during a meeting with the President of the EU European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, Nikol Pashinyan announced that. “In the context of the blockade, along with the promotion of transport connectivity, I also emphasize the expansion of energy connectivity, including the construction of power transmission lines and connectors with neighboring Turkey and Azerbaijan, which can contribute to both energy security and the green transition.”

In this tense situation, “Zhoghovurd” daily learned that the RA government has decided to start inspections at “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC. In particular, the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia (PSRC) monitors the company.

“Zhoghovurd” daily turned to the PSC to find out the purpose of the inspections, whether they have anything to do with the current situation, and what stage the works are at.

In response to the inquiry of “Zhoghovurd” daily newspaper, the PSC reported. “In the period from June 19 to July 2 of this year, the working groups of the PSC in various branches of “Gazprom Armenia” CJSC are carrying out annual monitoring, approved by the work program of the PSC, regarding the quality of service of indoor gas safety systems.”

Thus, in the PSC, they emphasize that the implemented works are programmatic annual monitoring and refer to the assessment of the quality of service of indoor gas safety systems. Nevertheless, conducting inspections in the period when the economic tension in Russian-Armenian relations continues to deepen, and worrying statements are being made about the gas supply, is very remarkable.”
