Today is Serzh Sargsyan’s birthday. the third president turned 72 years old

Today is the birthday of the third president of RA, Serzh Sargsyan. For him, this day has never had a special celebration, especially it has not had such a tone in recent years, when in this period of terrible losses and severe trials for our country and people, understandably, there is no mood left. The president has always preferred to spend his birthday at home with family members. Today is no exception.

He will, as usual, accept the congratulations of relatives, friends, colleagues, associates, supporters, the warm words of familiar and unfamiliar people, with special restraint and courtesy, he will be grateful and attentive to everyone, even though the day has no special significance for him. In response to the many public congratulations, he will definitely send a word of thanks and mutual good wishes to their authors, and to respond individually to the officially received letters.

Mr. President, you don’t like it when words of appreciation are voiced in congratulations addressed to you. And yet, whether you like it or not, your entire life and biography, your activities are directly and completely connected with the protection and security of our state and people, the building of the army and statehood of the newly independent Armenia, the organization of self-defense of Artsakh, the liberation struggle. Those were the years of a dignified and victorious state. And it is a fact that you had your unique contribution and direct participation in all of that. Maybe that is why it is more difficult to see that everything you fought for, to which you dedicated the best years of your life, for which nationwide efforts were invested and thousands of Armenians sacrificed their lives, is trampled and wasted today.

It is unspeakably difficult to find the strength to look forward again after many losses, to give hope to those around you, to never suffer from pessimism, to consider despair a sin, to be extremely realistic, not to lose optimism and to continue looking for ways to change the situation.

You, unlike many others, had the courage to talk about your mistakes, shortcomings during the years of office, publicly apologized for them and never put the responsibility on others. And this is also one of your human merits, as well as your unceasing service to the Motherland, unconditional devotion to your professed values, family and friends.

May God grant you strength and strength, good health and many years of life to see your goals realized, Armenia and Armenian Artsakh safe, victorious, dignified and peaceful again, the powerful potential Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity restored, the society united, those who committed national treason received the most severe punishment, the enemy defeated. May that day be near.
