To remind, the CC decided that Vardanyan and Zeynalyan, former members of the “Civil Agreement” and “Republic” parties, have a biased attitude towards the trial participants. The CC claimed that the judges discussed Safaryan’s issue at the June 21 session and did not adopt a decision on the impossibility of his participation, because there were not enough votes in favor.
Meanwhile, the “Armenia” alliance challenging the results of the elections in the Constitutional Court believes that judge Seda Safaryan is “biased, has a negative attitude towards Robert Kocharyan and participated in the 2021 elections with Arman Babajanyan on the same list.” Babajanyan’s “For the Republic” party is one of the 7 forces contesting the results of the elections, and it turns out that Safaryan now has to make a decision on the case of his former political partner as well.
In fact, it turns out that the majority of CC 9 judges did not see any problem regarding Seda Safaryan’s bias.
In any case, already during the examination of the issue in the CC, Seda Safaryan reinforced the point of view of bias among the applicants with his questions. they noticed that Safaryan repeats the speech of CP, makes political statements.
It should also be reminded that the factions “Hayastan” and “I have honor” put into circulation the project to appeal to the Constitutional Court on the issue of terminating the powers of Constitutional Court Judge Seda Safaryan in 2023, but it was rejected by the efforts of the ruling faction. As a basis for terminating the powers of Seda Safaryan, it was mentioned that the latter, violating the requirements of incompatibility established for the judge of the Constitutional Court, engaged in entrepreneurship. The CC never started any process. And Seda Safaryan practiced law as a judge, which is prohibited by law.
