The budget loan agreement was signed between RA and the OPEC fund

RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan participated in the event entitled “OPEC Fund Development Forum 2026”, the main purpose of which is to define the strategic directions of sustainable development and innovative financing, as well as to discuss current global challenges and development opportunities. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance.


Within the framework of the forum, Minister Hovhannisyan had bilateral meetings with Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, President of the International Development Fund of OPEC, as well as the vice-presidents of the public and private sectors of the fund and other high-ranking officials.


During the bilateral discussions between the Republic of Armenia and the OPEC International Development Fund, the “Armenia Economic Transformation Program” budget support loan agreement worth 80 million euros was signed. The project aims to contribute to Armenia’s economic transformation by improving the business and investment environment, promoting investment and trade, as well as ensuring greener, more inclusive and resilient development.
