NA Speaker Alen Simonyan sent a message on the occasion of April 24.
The message says:
“Dear compatriots,
Today we pay tribute to the memory of the innocent victims of the Armenian Genocide who were massacred and forcibly deported in 1915.
The memory of the genocide is not only a pain for us, but also a responsibility to prevent the repetition of past tragedies. It obliges us to be united, strong and far-sighted, building a safe and stable state where human life and peace are paramount values.
Along with mourning, we must realize that this day is also about learning from the past, getting stronger, moving forward and living. Our future should be shaped by the understanding that historical wounds can become a basis for consolidation and development.
I bow before the memory of all our martyrs and reaffirm our loyalty in providing the future generations with a peaceful and dignified life.
Eternal memory to the innocent victims.”
