Mayor Sarno detailed the history of the Armenian Genocide during the event. He drew comparisons between the genocide and subsequent atrocities that have occurred in recent human history.

“Today and for the rest of the days we honor the memory of all the victims and the courage of the survivors reaffirming our commitment to recognize the truth of history in a vital step in preventing future atrocities in genocide wherever they occur,” Sarno said.
