On Thursday, April 30, 2026, the Educational Committee of the Crescenta Valley Meher & Satig Der Ohanessian Youth Center will host a lecture on Since the creation of the American Committee for the Independence of Armenia in the 1920s by Vahan Cardashian, prominent American organizations have worked to advance the cause of freedom and liberty for the Armenian Nation. This presentation will provide a broad overview of American institutions and prominent individuals who are working today, in tandem with the ANCA, to advocate for Armenia and Artsakh. In his remarks, Raffi Hamparian will address how American organizations provide a powerful force to counter efforts by other lobbies to weaken and break the ANCA’s leadership as it relates to advancing the Armenian Cause. Raffi Hamparian served as the national chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA). He is currently the chair of the ANCA Endowment Fund. Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, Hamparian is a graduate of Rutgers University where he also earned a Master’s Degree in International Relations. Hamparian has worked for a number of members of Congress, most recently as the chief foreign affairs aide for former New Jersey Congressman Steven R. Rothman. He currently serves as the Executive Officer for Federal Affairs for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Hamparian is a lifelong Armenian American political activist, having begun his activism as a proud member of the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF). This event is open to public and community members.
