Gagik Tsarukyan and the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation discussed the prospects of the development of sports

At the invitation of the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, the President of the Olympic Committee Mikhail Degtyarev, the delegation led by the President of the Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan was in Moscow on April 14-16.

Gagik Tsarukyan met with his Russian counterpart, the prospects for the development of sports between RA and Russia were discussed, the possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives on international sports platforms were discussed. Mikhail Degtyarev warmly congratulated Gagik Tsarukyan on his election as the president of the Eurasian Sports Association and wished him an effective and fruitful work, expressed hope that this platform will contribute to deepening the sports potential of different countries.

Gagik Tsarukyan noted that the chairmanship of the Eurasian Sports Cooperation Association opens new doors for the deepening of cooperation.


“Armenia is ready to be a bridge between Europe, Asia, and Russia in terms of discussing and finding fair solutions to existing problems and issues in sports,” the NAOC president noted, adding that sports are outside of politics and it is unfair that athletes and the progress of sports in general suffer as a result of political processes.


The parties emphasized the deepening of bilateral cooperation and agreed to make such meetings continuous in order to promote the spread of Olympic ideas and the development of world sports.
