Under a presidential grant, the Research on Armenian
Architecture Fund and the Digital Monument NGO have published a map-guide to the historical monuments of Gegharkunik and Kotayk provinces.

“Such guides help improve the knowledge of the homeland and contribute to the development of tourism,” Samvel Karapetyan, President of the Research on Armenian Architecture Fund, told reporters today.

According to Armen Gevorgyan, President of the Digital Monument NGO, three thousand copies of the guide have been distributed among the Governor’s Offices of Kotayk and Gegharkunik, a number of hotels, more than 40 tour-operators free of charge.

The authors say they will continue to publish map-guides to the historical-architectural monuments in all provinces of Armenia, if appropriate funding is available.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
