Azerbaijani troops on Friday killed an Armenian soldier in the latest shooting in the direction of the Armenian settlement of Gorhayk in Syunik province along the border with Nakhijevan, Spokesman for the Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannnisyan said.
Th Spokesperson said the rival suffered substantial losses as a result of retaliatory fire by the Armenian side.
He conveyed the condolences of the Ministry of Defense to the families and friends of contract serviceman Arman Yepremyan, born in 1987, and pledged that the “assault would not go unpunished.”
Hovhannisyan said there had been no shooting in that particular section of the shared border over the past year.
