The downing of unarmed Karabakh helicopter by Azerbaijani forces
was Azerbaijan’s revenge for its heavy losses this summer and that
incident was widely covered by Azerbaijani media, former MP, Yerevan
State University (YSU) lecturer Vardan Khachatryan told reporters
on Thursday.

According to Khachatryan, the Armenian side should take such measures
that will be more painful for Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, he said that
this incident should not lead to large-scale hostilities.

He noted that it is not beneficial for the Azerbaijani authorities
and Aliyev clan to start large-scale hostilities because it may lead
to replacement of Aliyev clan.

A MI-24 helicopter of the NKR Air Force was shot down on November 12
in the airspace in the eastern direction of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani
border due to a ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani armed forces.

The area where the helicopter was shot down was at a very short
distance from the Line of Contact. The enemy opened heavy fire from
guns of various calibers at the incident site.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
