An ambulance arrived at the presidential residence today to pick up
Anahit Arushanyan who health deteriorated unexpectedly during a
protest.

Three days ago the Arushanyan family started a hunger strike outside
the presidential residence in order to draw authorities’ attention to
the case of their son – Ashot Arushanyan, who has been sentenced to
about 6 years in prison for robbery.

The family is disputing the verdict at a higher court.

“We are afraid that the court will receive a definite order that is
why we started a hunger strike,” Anahit Arushanyan said. Today
doctors wanted to inject her glucose but she refuse.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
