WORLD TRAVEL MARKET 2014 INTERVIEW – ARMAN KHACHATURYAN, ARMENIA

EuroNews – English Version
November 6, 2014 Thursday

At the World Travel Market 2014 in London, the leading event for
the global travel industry, euronews spoke to Arman Khachaturyan,
Chief Executive Officer National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia
about the diverse tourism offer his country showcased in London. Video
in English.

“We are known for our culture, for our heritage, for our history. And
our tourism products are inherently embedded in the experience and
in the history that we have. One of the major influxes that we have
into the country are from Russia and from Western Europe. They come,
for example the Germans come for eco-tourism. The Italians come for our
heritage and history. The Russians come for leisure tourism. And we are
trying to cater to all the needs by creating very specific products.”

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
