Armenian journalist appointed chief advisor to Turkish Prime Minister

Turkish-Armenian journalist and writer Etyen Mahcupyan will serve as a
chief advisor to Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Davutoglu offered the post to Mahcupyan last week, on the sidelines of
a meeting of the intellectuals’ council. Mahcupyan accepted the offer,
according to Sabah daily.

Davutoglu stressed that Etyen Mahcupyan made an important contribution
to Turkey’s democratization and the formation of civil society.

It is noted that Mahcupyan will deal with the settlement of the
Armenian issues.

He headed Agos weekly for some time after Hrant Dink’s assassination,
