Baikalpress.ru informed that Canadian Armenian entrepreneur Azat
Vardanyan who introduced himself as the president of International
Academy of Informatization had pledged to invest 35 million dollars in
Irkutsk, Russia for the implementation of Baikal Water of Life Project
which involved building a drinking water bottling plant, hotels,
recreation and sports facilities to promote tourism. According to the
newspaper, Vardanyan received immense amounts from Chinese companies
but did not implement the project.
It is not known whether Irkutsk deceived Vardanyan or vice versa. Note
that the academy led by Azat Vardanyan is the same notorious
institution involved in the scandal of conferring PhD on Surik
Khachatryan.
