AGREEMENT ON RUSSIA-ARMENIA AIR DEFENSE WITHIN CSTO ALMOST READY FOR SIGNING
YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. The agreement on Russian-Armenian
element of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) air
defense system is almost ready for signing, CSTO Secretary General
Nikolay Bordiuja told a press conference at a videobridge with Yerevan
and Astana.
The united CSTO air defense consists of Russia-Armenia, Russia-Belarus
and Russia-Kazakhstan systems that will operate synchronously in
future based on common air alert rules, Bordiuja said.
The respective agreements signed about Russia-Belarus and
Russia-Kazakhstan systems have been already enforced.
The plan for CSTO air defense and missile defense was discussed at
a CSTO permanent council regular meeting on September 16. -0–
