Saturday, July 26, 2014

At the initiative of Defense Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Republic,
Commander of the NKR Defense Army, Lieutenant General Movses Hakobyan,
about 200 conscripts who had distinguished themselves during their
military service received the opportunity to meet with their parents
and friends in Yerevan.

In the words of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, this initiative
launched by NKR Defense Ministry jointly with Yerevan municipality
will continue, just as traditional trips that servicemen’s parents can
make at least twice a year to military units to familiarize themselves
with military service conditions on the spot.

By an order of the NKR defense minister, the parents of several
servicemen received letters of thanks for their sons’ dedicated
service to the Fatherland.

When giving the letters of thanks, Movses Hakobyan said: “The
servicemen present in this hall and thousands of young men doing
military service are aware that the Fatherland starts with its borders
and the more protected the borders, the stronger the state is. It is
thanks to this awareness that our state exists and our people live and
create even amid a blockade. I consider it an honor to meet with
parents who brought up their sons in the spirit of patriotism and sent
them to the army. Our army today is strong thanks to them”.

Movses Hakobyan also awarded a medal of the NKR Defense Army to
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan for close cooperation with Defense
Ministry of the NKR.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
