HRAPARAK: ARMENIAN BUSINESSMAN MP TO BE APPOINTED AMBASSADOR?

Samvel Alexanyan, the businessman MP from the ruling Republican Party
of Armenia, is said to have left for Iraq for meetings with local
officials and Kurdish circles.
But he appears to have not only business-related plans but also
diplomatic programs in the country. Citing its sources, the paper says
that the authorities are going to give him the status of a diplomat.
The issue is now reportedly on the Foreign Minisry’s agenda. Armenian
Ambassador to Iraq Murad Muradyan, who is said to be hurt by the
authorities controversial plan for selling the Sports and Complex
Center (which belongs to his family) is expected to quit post to give
way to Alexanyan, says the paper.
