Armenian Genocide

The Armenian Genocide was trending at #2 on Twitter and other social
media on Thursday when between the hours of 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. a
national movement to raise awareness about the Armenian Genocide
kicked off at the initiative of the Armenian Youth Federation and the
All Armenian Student Association, Asbarez reports.

Total tweets sent on Thursday with the hash tag #ArmenianGenocide
reached 16,715. The hash tag trended at the #2 spot on Twitter for two
hours and then continued to trend at #3 for another two hours after
that.

As thousands flocked to social media to make #ArmenianGenocide a point
of discussion, resulting in the high-visibility trending, silent
protests were held across college campuses in California raising
awareness for the Armenian Genocide outside the month of April.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
