Yesterday Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan defended his dissertation
at the University of Economics. The defense was behind closed doors.
Like the election to the Council of Yerevan, the defense was held with
the help of the university riffraff. Many people wondered why the
defense was behind closed doors. For the simple reason that Taron
Margaryan hardly knew what he was defending and he would hardly
memorize the brief title of his scientific paper. However, the defense
was needed because the RPA is focused on future division of roles in
government. A change of generation will take place, and one has to
keep up with the others, including the leader of the youth wing of the
RPA Karen Avagyan who turns out to be a doctor of medicine. Taron
Margaryan and Karen Avagyan are reportedly preparing for the next
presidential election, and they are competing in all aspects. Taron
Margaryan is rumored likely to become a correspondent of the National
Academy of Sciences immediately after receiving the certificate of
candidate of sciences. The president of the NAS is going to call a
session of the College of Academy soon to discuss this issue.
