ARMENIAN EDITOR TO FACE FRAUD CHARGES

The police in Vagharshapat (Armavir region) have opened a criminal
case against the Azdarar newspaper’s editor-in-chief, accusing him
of swindling large sums.
A police source has told the investigative journalists’ website
Hetq.am that a proceeding has been launched against the editor, Martik
Sargsyan, and a resident of the Jrarat village, Hermine Tovmasyan,
under Article 178.2 of Armenia’s Criminal Code (Swindling by a group
with prior agreement).
The aggrieved, Norik Ghahramanyan, has told the police that the
two have involved him and his son in a loan transaction by opening
accounts in their names in the VTB-Armenia Bank.
An inquest is under way.
