PUBLIC COUNCIL CALLS FOR DISMANTLEMENT OF FACING OF GANDZASAR’S ENCLOSURE

The Sub-commission on Preservation of Historic Values and Monuments of
the Public Council of Armenia has taken a decision to send a letter to
the Presidents of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh and Catholicos of All
Armenians Karekin II. The letter will contain a proposal to dismantle
the facing tiles of the enclosure of Gandzasar Monastery Complex.
The sub-commission asks that the government take a decision about
dismantlement of the facing of the monastery’s enclosure and its full
restoration in accordance with its historic style as well as about
the involvement of experts for professional organization of work.
