July 18, 2013 | 20:25

The lawyer of Armenian driver involved in a fatal car crash in
Russia has filed complaints against the actions of escort officers
and doctors who brought Hrachya Harutyunyan to a courtroom dressed
in a women’s robe.

Talking to the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent, Alexander Maltsev
said he had filed two complaints. According to Russian legislation,
the response must be sent within 10 days. If the checkup is necessary,
the term will be extended to 30 days.

As informed earlier, a truck crashed into a passenger bus on July
13 outside Moscow, and it was found out that the truck driver was
an Armenian citizen by the name of Hrachya Harutyunyan. The impact
of the crash was so powerful that the bus had split in two. The
accident claimed 18 lives and about 50 others were hospitalized. The
court had Harutyunyan arrested on Monday. To note, he was brought
to the courtroom with slippers and a women’s robe. This fact caused
widespread discontent among the Armenian public, and protests were
staged across the Russian Embassy in Armenia.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
