PROSPEROUS ARMENIA MP’S STATEMENT ‘KIND OF RHETORIC’ – RULING PARTY REP

The statement by Vartan Oskanian, a Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP)
parliamentary group member, who tops the PAP list in the upcoming
elections to Yerevan’s Council of Elders, is “kind of rhetoric” on
the threshold of the elections, Hovannes Sahakyan, Secretary of the
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told Tert.am.
Addressing the political situation in Armenia and possible political
developments in the coming years, Oskanian expressed the opinion
that the PAP should change its political status from September, when
Armenia’s parliament is to open its new session, and declare itself
an opposition party.
“This is Vartan Oskanian’s personal opinion. If the Prosperous Armenia
political team re-affirms it, we will make a political assessment,”
Sahakyan said.
