SEDRAKYAN’S LAWYER TO APPEAL VERDICT

Lawyer Alexander Sirunyan today received the March 18, 2013, verdict of
the Court of Criminal Appeals which upheld the ruling of a lower court
to choose detention as a preventive measure against ex-presidential
candidate Vardan Sedrakyan.

The lawyer is going to appeal the verdict in the Cassation Court
after making clarifications with Sedrakyan.

On March 5, the National Security Service charged Vardan Sedrakyan
with ordering an assassination attempt against Paruyr Hayrikyan,
Chairman of the Union of National Self-Determination, ahead of the
February 18 presidential election.
