France is trying to find solution on Armenian Genocide which would
satisfy both Armenia and Turkey, French Senator Nathalie Goulet in
an interview with Cihan news agency.

“France is discussing the matter with the Turkish government. It is
necessary to find a solution that will satisfy the Armenians, but at
the same time will not be a shock for Turkey,” she said.

French president Francois Hollande plans to be decisive on the matter,
she added. Noting that Turkish-French relations have recently become
more active, Goulet said the Armenian issue is a major obstacle to the
“healthy bilateral relations.” She also noted how big and powerful
Armenian Diaspora in France is, adding that the French government
would not overlook Turkey this time.

The National Assembly of France will consider a new bill criminalizing
Armenian Genocide denial. The author of the second bill is Valerie
Boyer.

The previous Genocide bill was adopted by the French National Assembly
and ratified by the Senate on January 23, 2012. However, a group of MPs
and Senators, influenced by pro-Turkish and pro-Azerbaijani lobbyists,
appealed the bill in the Constitutional Council.
