Nare And Davit Most Popular Newborns’ Names In Armenia

YEREVAN. – In 2012 Armenians most commonly named their daughters Nare,
Milena, Marie, and their sons: Davit, Narek, Gor.

As the website of the National Statistical Service informs, among
19,618 girls born in 2012, 945 girls were named Nare, 868 – Milena,
and 773 – Marie. The top ten includes the names Mane, Ani, Anahit,
Elen, Mariam, Anna, nd Maria. Least of all baby girls were named
Armine, Monika, Astghik, Mara, Nelly, Narine, and Seda.

Among 22,715 boys born in 2012, 1,283 boys were named Davit, 1,129 –
Narek, and 813 – Gor. The top ten also includes the names Hayk, Erik,
Alex, Tigran, Arman, Samvel, and Alen. The least popular names were
Avet, Albert, Sergey, Andranik, Rafael.
