Paruyr Hayrikyan is a symbol of independence and to shoot on him
means to shoot on Armenia’s independence, member of the Sardarapat
movement Garegin Chugaszyan told journalists on Friday.
He said that the forthcoming events, that is, the presidential
election, will show who was behind the crime.
The leader of National Self-Determination Union, presidential
candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan was shot in the shoulder Wednesday night
and taken to hospital. The police are investigating the case.
