U.S. to continue support for democratic processes in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met Dec
14 with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human
Rights and Labor Thomas O. Melia.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian highly assessed Armenian-U.S.
cooperation, hailing America’s support for implementation of
democratic reports in the country, RA MFA reported.

Mr. Melia, in turn, voiced U.S. readiness to continue assistance to
Armenia’s democratic processes, with the outcomes of Dublin-hosted
OSCE ministerial council meeting and cooperation in international
organizations discussed.

The parties also dwelt on Armenia’s struggle against corruption, human
rights protection and upcoming presidential elections. Minister
Nalbandian further briefed Deputy Assistant Secretary of State on the
latest developments of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.
