FARHAD MAMADOV: “THOUGH ARMENIA HAS NOT RECOVERED FROM THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS, IT CONTINUES TO INCREASE ITS MILITARY EXPENDITURES”

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. “Though Armenia has not recovered from
the global economic crisis since 2008, it continues to increase its
military expenditures”, director of the Center for Strategic Studies
(SAM) Farhad Mammadov told journalists.
According to him, the military expenditures in Armenia make up 15-16%
of the state budget, this is too high for such a small country:
“Armenia exists at the expenses of foreign donations. $ 8 billion
was transferred to Armenia last year, $ 2 billion – this year.”
The SAM director also added that provocations increased on the front
line before the elections, they aim to distract people’s attention from
the current problems in Armenia, show invader generals as patriots.
