An opposition rally in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, attracted a crowd
of 100,000, Interfax reports, citing Georgian experts.

Tbilisi’s Freedom Square and neighboring districts were said to be
full of people too.

The Georgian authorities had gathered together around 70,000 people in
the same area a day before.

Bidzina Ivanishvili, who heads the opposition coalition Georgian
Dream, told the crowd at today’s rally that `the birthday of a new
Georgia has arrived’.

He said the country has launched `a struggle against violence’ despite
what he called the regime’s terrorism against the opposition.
