Book `Armenian marshals, generals, admirals’ published in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, SEPTEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS: The presentation of the
newly-published Russian-language book “Armenian marshals, generals,
admirals of St. Petersburg” took place on September 28 at the Cultural
Center of the Armenian community of St. Petersburg. As reported by the
correspondent of Armenpress from St. Petersburg, the author of the
book, Editor-in-chief of the “Havatamk” Newspaper of the local
Armenian Apostolic Church of St. Catherine Armen Meruzhanyan presented
in his work the Armenian militaries, which lived, worked and obtained
their education in the Imperial and Soviet military institutions of
the cultural capital of Russia. Many of them demonstrated the best
military art, knowledge and skills in the Peter the Great’s campaigns,
Russo-Persian, Russo-Turkish and Russo-Japanese wars.

The considerable part of the book is dedicated to the glorious
Armenian generals, admirals and marshals, whose names have been
written in gold in the pages of the history of the victory over the
fascism. The reader of the book will meet names, about which it has
been mentioned for the first time. The brief biographical information
is accompanied by the photos of the militaries. The first page of the
book is posted by the patriarchal greeting of His Holiness Karekin II,
Catholicos of All Armenians.

congratulated Armen Meruzhanyan and spoke about the significant
importance and value of the book.
