European Investment Bank To Provide Around 37 Million Euro Loan To A

EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK TO PROVIDE AROUND 37 MILLION EURO LOAN TO ARMENIA

YEREVAN, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS: Minister of Finance of Armenia Vache
Gabrielyan and the head of Eastern policy and Central Asia division
of European Investment Bank Heinz Olbers on August 7 in the ministry
of Finance of Armenia signed loan agreements. Armenpress reports that
the Vache Gabrielyan mentioned that the aim of water program is to
implement reconstruction and modernization of water objects in Tavush,
Lori, Shirak, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Syunik and Vayotz Dzor regions
of Armenia which must correspond to international standards. “More
than 300 000 people ill be provided with cleaner water” mentioned
the minister.

In the framework of “Modernization of “Bagratashen”, “Bavra” and
“Gogavan” checkpoints of the state border of the Republic of Armenia”
program is planned to establish modern infrastructure of checkpoints.

“For business world and trade will be created favorable conditions,
the border security will be improved” mentioned Vache Gabrielyan.

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment
Bank support the implementation of the program. European Union also
supports the program.

In the words of the head of Eastern policy and Central Asia division of
European Investment Bank Heinz Olbers the water program is considered
as a priority for the activity of European Investment Bank in the
region which will implement economic and social development and
the the program of modernization of border checkpoints will improve
the movement of the people. Heinz Olbers also expressed hope that in
future the cooperation between Armenia and the bank will be continued
in future.
