Azerbaijan says that all foreign flights through its territory need
permission, Trend reports.

The statement was made in response to Armenia’s plans to start
exploitation of the Khankendi Airport in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The OSCE Minsk Group urges the sides of conflict to avoid violence.

Azerbaijan approves the idea. ICAO and ICAC support Azerbaijan in
the issue.

Flights to Khankendi without Azerbaijani permission will be considered
a violation of Azerbaijani aerospace. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan
promised to be the first passenger flying from Khankendi.

Spokesman of AZAL (Azerbaijani Airlines) Magerram Safarli said that
Armenia does not have the right to exploit the Khankendi Airport. No
convention or organization, including ICAO, has given permission to
use it.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
