Azerbaijan has signed an agreement with Israeli company Rafael to
purchase anti-tank missiles Spike-SR and Spike-LR, and with the
company Elbit Systems to purchase 120 mm mortars of Cardom type.

Information about the orders of Azerbaijan and their delivery has
not been provided, APA reported.

Azerbaijan adopted anti-tank missiles Spike in 2010.

Spike-SR is a short range version Spike, minimum range is 200 m while
the maximum range is 800 m and is intended for infantry use. The
reusable Command & launch unit (CLU), battery, tripod and the thermal
sight are also used by other land-based versions of the Spike missile
family, each weighing 5 kg, 1 kg, 2.8 kg and 4 kg respectively.

Spike-LR is a long range version. The weight of the missile is 14 kg,
maximum range is 4,000 m and is used by infantry and light combat
vehicles. It adds fiber-optic communication to and from the launching
soldier during flight. Reported armour penetration capability is more
than 700 mm of Rolled homogeneous armour (RHA).

The Cardom is a Soltam Systems 120mm Recoil Mortar System (RMS). It is
an autonomous, computerized system for mounting on light and medium
armored carriers. The system provides accurate and effective fire
support. Its range is 7,000-8,000 meters.

The military parade in Baku last year showcased Spike missiles and
Cardom mortars.
