Azerbaijan has the strongest army of region – President

The Azerbaijani army is the strongest in the region, Azerbaijani
President Ilham Aliyev stated.

‘Today our army has a great potential and is the most powerful
in the region’, President Aliyev stated on Monday at an extended
meeting of the government dedicated to the results of the social and
economic development of Azerbaijan in 2011 and tasks defined in 2012,
Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.

The head of state noted that Azerbaijan increased its military
capacity, which causes concern in Armenia.

The president underlined that in 2010, the military spending of
Azerbaijan made up $4,413bn and in 2011 $3,474bn.
