PanARMENIAN.Net – Sitting of Israel’s Knesset Committee for Education,
Culture and Sports regarding the issue of Armenian Genocide recognition
is ongoing.

Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin noted that divergence between Ankara
and Yerevan should not “wipe away” historical facts.

According to him, the fact of Armenian massacres should not be
questioned.

“Though I do not keep my views in secret, Turkey never thought to
declare me as “persona non grata.”

Today, Dec. 26, Knesset Committee for Education, Culture and Sports
is debating introduction of Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. Though
the proposal was voiced eight months ago its debate was delayed to
December 26.

Following the passage of the bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide
denial by the French National Assembly, Ankara recalled its ambassador
from France.
